No relenting on Samara deeksha: Kodandaram
Police on Saturday refused to grant permission for holding 'Samara Deeksha' to be organized by Telangana Joint Action Comittee (TJAC) on January 27 at Indira park demanding the Centre to stick to its deadline of 28 January for the announcement of Telangana state.
TJAC chairman Kodandaram who met Home Minister Sabitha Indira Reddy at her residence in the evening, strongly condemned the denial of permission by the police and said that "though we are going to conduct the deeksha peacefully police have denied permission."
Referring to the Rajahmundry public meeting, Kodandaram said that police granted permission to Seemandhra leaders to hold the meetings but have denied permission for us.
We will hold the 'deeksha' even if the police do not give us permission, Kodandaram made it clear.
It has now become sole responsibility of the Congress ministers from the region to get the permission, he added.
In another development, the executive meeting of TRS, scheduled to be held on Sunday has been postponed to February 5.
