No question of merger with any party: Vijayamma - Sakshi Post

The Honorary President of YSR Congress Party, YS Vijayamma once again categorically refuted rumours of the party's merger into any other party.

Ruling out any possibility of a merger, she told reporters that there was no need for such a move considering the fact that people had reposed overwhelming confidence in the YSRCP. "Where is the need for a merger when people are with us? she asked. Vijayamma was addressing the media after the Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Assembly got over. She condemned the propaganda that had been unleashed by a section of the media on this count.

She added that the YSRCP did not have to resort to 'match-fixing' with the Congress for the sake of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's bail petition, saying that he had already spent 111 days in jail. Bail was normally granted after 90 days, she said. "Could they prove a single charge of corruption against Jagan in all these days"? she questioned.

Vijayamma said that the YSRCP would always be in the forefront of the fight for the rights of the poor and to ensure justice for them. She added that the Assembly ought to discuss people's problems and find proper solutions to them and expressed the view that the House should be convened for a minimum period of 15 days. She said that the problems of handloom weavers should also come up for discussion and recalled how the YSR government had borne the increase in prices of LPG when they were hiked at that time. Vijayamma said that the present government should also subsidize the recent price-hike without burdening the common man.
