No need for separate Telangana state: Jagga Reddy
Making an explosive statement, Government Whip T Jagga Reddy who is close to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday said "There is no need for creating a separate Telangana state". He said he would soon write a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi requesting her to not grant a separate state for Telangana.
He would demand a special package for the development of Telangana region.
Speaking to media persons in Hyderabad, the Sangareddy MLA said that "I will leave for Delhi on December 8 to meet Sonia and tell her that the people of Telangana are not interested in a separate state".
He said he would also request the Congress high command to support the construction of Pranahita-Chevella project.
Information and Public Relations Minister DK Aruna faulted Jagga Reddy's comments and said when all the people of Telangana are interested in 'T'-state, it is not right to make these comments now. If you raise your voice against Telangana, people of this region will permanently banish you from here, she said.
Interestingly, in the afternoon, Telangana Congress minister Jana Reddy in New Delhi announced that the separate state will soon become a reality. But, Jagga Reddy in the state capital questioned - what was the use if Telanagana state is formed?
