No More Long Waits For Dharma Darshan At Tirumala

At present, the dharma darshan devotees have to wait at least 10-15 hours to get the darshan and it may be even longer during festivals - Sakshi Post

Putting a cap on the long waiting hours for dharma darshan at Tirumala, the AP government has introduced a new time slot system for the darshan of Lora venkateswara swamy at the hill shrine.

At present, the dharma darshan devotees have to wait at least 10-15 hours to get the darshan and it may be even longer during festivals. To cut the waiting time, the TTD officials have introduced the 'time slot' facility through which the devotees can finish their darshan within 2-3 hours. As per the new system, the devotees have to choose their time within the 24-hour schedule and they have to collect the tickets at the 117 counters which have been set up at the different places on the hill shrine.

The devotees have to produce their Aadhaar cards to get the tokens. In case they fail to show their aadhaar card, the devotees have to go back to dharma darshan, which takes 10-12 hours to seek the darshan of the Lord. The TTD has also deployed over 300 employees and 80 supervising officers, who work at all the counters in three shifts. They have also set up CCTVs and display screens at the counters to avoid any kind of malpractices.

"Currently, the time slot system will be introduced on trial basis from December 18 to 23 and it takes more 3-4 months to get full-time access to the system," a TTD official told media.
