‘No More Holidaying’: CM Yogi Scraps 17 Holidays In UP
Lucknow: After cracking a whip on illegal slaughter houses in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is taking a slew of measures to bring the administration on track. In a latest move, CM Yogi cancelled 15 public holidays that were declared by the previous Mayawati's BSP and Samajwadi Party governments to keep their vote banks in good humour.
Of 42 holidays, 17 are related to birth anniversaries of prominent personalities in Uttar Pradesh.
Due to these public holidays, the academic session has been reduced to 220 days to 120 days in schools and colleges. The work in government offices also being delayed due to a slow pace of files movement.
