No DGP linked to Nayeem, says Dinesh Reddy
Hyderabad: Strongly denying that any Director General of Police had any link with gangster Nayeem, who was shot dead recently in an encounter, former DGP Dinesh Reddy said DGPs never handle informers and that such people are never used for personal benefit of the police officials.
Dinesh Reddy, who addressed the media at a hotel in the city, said killing of Nayeem was good and congratulated Chief Minister KCR. He sought an appointment with KCR to provide key information inputs in the incident.
Reddy is also demanded that the Government probe all angles and bring to light all those involved with Nayeem. He demanded that anyone linked to Nayeem be severely punished, but at the same time, innocents should not be harassed.
He also scoffed at the misinformation that he was staying close to Greyhounds’ Vyas at the time of the fatal attack on the latter.
Referring to Sohrabuddin encounter, he said no investigating authority has ever come for Nayeem. However, they did come for one Kaleemuddin. He also scoffed at the misinformation that he was staying close to Greyhounds’ Vyas at the time of the fatal attack on the latter. “I was a good 400 metres away from Vyas at the time of shooting,” he said.
He also said that there was a slanderous campaign against him that he owned 1500 acres in Shamshabad. Later, it was found to be a fake claim, he pointed out.
