Nigerian Among Drug Peddlers Held For Smuggling Cocaine, Ganja

Bengaluru: A 36-yer-old Nigerian, Chukwu Gadwin, among seven others was arrested for drug peddling in various parts of Bengaluru city. Chukwu came to India on a business visa in 2014 and was staying at Medahalli near KR Puram. The police said that he used to supply drugs to rave parties and some of his customers also collected from his house.

Apart from Chukwu, an inter-state drug peddling racket was arrested on Tuesday. The accused were: Suraj Kumar Kamat who resides in Tilaknagar, while his associates Poorna Chandranath, VIjay Kumar Pal and Kamlesh Kumar hailed from Bihar. Kamat came to the city three years ago and to make quick money he got into ganja business. Explaining about the modus operandi, police officials said that they used to bring weed though train to KR Puram railway station. Then the consignment was moved to an autorikshaw to Kamat's house. Police seized 8.13 kg ganja from them.

In another case Asif of Valmiki Nagar was held in a ganja case and 1.10 kg ganja was seized from him. The central crime branch officials arrested Vibesh and Nyanseh for selling ganja and seized 1.10 kg ganja from the duo.
