Xi Jinping Orders China Military To Scale Up Battle Preparedness

BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday ordered the military to prepare for the worst-case scenarios and asked to think about how effectively to deal with all sorts of complex situations. His comments came after Indian and Chinese troops remained engaged in a standoff situation at the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

While attending a plenary meeting of the delegation of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and People's Armed Police Force, Xi Jinping who is also the General Secretary of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) and head of the two-million-strong military stressed that the military should resolutely protect the country's sovereignty.

Tension escalated at the India-China border and the face-off between India and China started as the latter disagreed for the construction of a road and bridge in the Galwan area by India. India and China don't have a well-defined border. Chinese military is sending a signal that it is not going to end its confrontation with the Indian army anytime soon. It is fast increasing the presence of its troops in areas around Pangong Tso lake and Galwan valley along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh.

MEA Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said at an online media briefing, "Any suggestion that Indian troops had undertaken activity across the LAC in the Western sector or the Sikkim sector is not accurate. Indian troops are fully familiar with the alignment of the Line of Actual Control in the India-China border areas and abide by it scrupulously,"

The United States and China have also involved in a new cold war and it would turn into an actual armed conflict very soon. According to the reports, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that "Some US political forces are taking hostage of China-US relations, attempting to push the ties to the brink of a so-called New Cold War. This is dangerous and will endanger global peace."
