AP Governor Falls Sick, Admitted to AIG Hospital Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Following a severe illness this morning, Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan was airlifted to Hyderabad and admitted to the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Gachibowli.
His condition is described as critical. In a special aircraft from Vijayawada to Hyderabad, his wife, Suprava Harichandan, and son, Prithvi Raj Harichandan, accompanied him.
The cause of his ill health is unknown. The health alert is likely to be released soon by the hospital.
Harichandan, 87, was a five-time MLA from Odisha and served as revenue minister in the previous BJP-Biju Janata Dal coalition administration. He began his political career as a lawyer with the Janata Dal and eventually joined the BJP in 1996. He has been involved with the party since then. In 2019, he was named Governor of Andhra Pradesh.
