Physical compatibility? Check. Emotional connection? Check. The most important thing of all – love? Check. Check. Check. Mugdha (Parna Pethe) and Mukul (Siddharth Chandekar) seem to have everything going for them as a couple. Except for one tiny thing – they haven’t spent longer than a weekend at a stretch with each other – one of the side-effects of being in a long-distance relationship. But when faced with an unusual and unforeseen situation during one of their romantic getaways in Lonavla, they must now do something that they are not used to – spend every moment in each other’s company. This means exposing their vulnerabilities, discovering the skeletons hidden in each other’s closets and somehow, still finding ways to keep their love alive. But is love enough? Or are there some other crucial elements needed to make a relationship work?
Speaking about the show, Siddhartha Roy, COO, Hungama Digital Media, said, “Hungama Originals are driven by compelling and locally relevant narratives that are created for a comfortable mobile viewing experience and brought to life with the help of remarkable talent. Our latest Marathi original show offers a unique perspective on modern-day relationships and features a stellar cast. We are certain that the audiences will appreciate this show for its authenticity and honesty. We intend to launch several new shows and expect our reach to increase by over 2.5x this year.”
Elaborating on the show, Siddharth Chandekar shared, “Adhantari beautifully captures myriad human emotions. It is an exceptional story that is based on realistic situations that most of us have gone through at some point of time in our lives. The added layer of homour and drama makes it entertaining to the core. I hope the audiences will resonate with the story and the characters of the show.”
Parna Pethe added, “My character in the show is that of a girl who’s impulsive yet honest. Although she lacks something vital in life, she makes up for it with her positive attitude. Today’s generation will certainly relate to her. I’m always delighted to play characters that have depth, and this role has been one such experience.”
Aroh Welankar said, “We wanted Adhantari to be a fun experience for the viewers. The show takes a look at the flip side of staying together in a relationship. The story is comedic, dramatic and sensitive when it needs to be, packing in a complete dose of entertainment for the audience.”
Virajas Kulkarni added, “Couples will relate to Adhantari, but what they take away from the show will vary from individual to individual. Living together is an exciting proposition for most couples but it can also come with its own sets of problems. The story highlights how two humans handle their emotions when forced to be together.”
Aashay Kulkarni shared, “The last year has been tough on every relationship but more so for busy, young couples who have never spent so much time together. Adhantari picks this issue and gives it an interesting spin that will keep the viewers glued to their screens till the end.”
Talking about the story and actors, the director of the show, Jeet Ashok said, “This is a unique narrative that has not been explored before. Given our experience in the past year, this story is probably something many of us would relate to. I’m glad to have worked with a brilliant team of actors who came together in a short span of time and made the story and characters seem so close to life.”
Adhantari is now available to stream on Hungama Play. Additionally, it is also available to stream through Hungama Play on MX Player, Vi Movies and TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Tata Sky Binge, Tata Sky Binge+, DishSMRT Stick, D2H Stream, DishSMRT Hub, SITI Playtop, ISPs like Meghbela Broadband, Alliance Broadband, ACT Fibernet and Netplus, and Smart TVs like TCL, OnePlus TV, LG, Sony BRAVIA, CVTE, Toshiba and CloudWalker.
