Salaar Underperforms In These States

Director Prashanth Neel's Salaar has been doing exceptionally well in the Telugu States and foreign countries (especially the US). The success in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is on the expected lines.
Salaar has already achieved breakeven in Nizam and the US. However, it is doing poorly in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
Lack of promotions is the main reason for the poor performance in those States. The makers of Salaar were overconfident about their film pulling off well in TN and Kerala on its own. In Kannada, they hoped that the popularity of Neel will do magic.
A section of social media users are alleging that the BO numbers claimed by Hombale Films are fake. "They are peddling fake numbers so that Salaar looks dominant compared to Dunki," a Bollywood fan said. Shah Rukh Khan's fans have been sharing screenshots, images, etc to convey the point that Salaar is running to near-empty theatres in TN, Karnataka and Kerala.
