Salaar Movie Promotions Are Dull. Why So?
Rebel Star Prabhas’ upcoming movie Salaar is one of the most-awaited films of the year. The film's trailer was released on December 1. It received mixed reviews from all quarters.
The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Homable Films. The production house also produced 'KGF 1', 'KGF 2' and 'Kantara' in the past.
The KGF franchise movies were extensively promoted, be it in terms of a grand audio launch event or a high-profile trailer launch event. The banner is now least bothered about holding such large-scale events for Salaar.
The makers are not at all promoting the pan-Indian film with the kind of fanfare it deserves. It seems Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel are not so keen about their prized film.
The duo opted to release the trailer directly on YouTube. They are not promoting the film despite only a couple of weeks being left for its theatrical release.
Will there be any pre-release event? Will Prabhas interact with the media? Will the makers give the fans fodder for their social media-driven hype creation? Director Prashanth Neel and the rest of the team (read Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Jagapathi Babu) might promote the film with some enthusiasm, our sources say.
The film is slated to release in theatres on December 22. It is all set to compete with SRK’s Dunki.
