Rajamouli Turns Down Hollywood For This Reason
After the massive success of Baahubali and RRR, Tollywood director SS Rajamouli's fame has skyrocketed. Hollywood stars now eagerly seek opportunities to collaborate with him. However, Rajamouli remains committed to making pan-Indian films with Telugu stars and delivering hits. Moreover, he is giving opportunities to Tollywood producers to produce his films.
In the early stages of his career, Rajamouli would only work with producers who signed an agreement to make a film with him. He has upheld this principle, honouring a promise made 15 years ago to producer KL Narayana. Narayana recently revealed that Rajamouli kept his word regarding their upcoming project, SSMB29, with Mahesh Babu.
"We decided 15 years ago to make a film with the Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu combination," Narayana said in an interview. "At that time, I wanted to produce a film under my banner, Durga Arts. However, due to certain reasons, it wasn't possible then. Now, the level of both the director and the actor has increased immensely. Many producers are waiting to make a film with them. However, they are making a film with me as per their promise."
Narayana expressed gratitude for Rajamouli's loyalty, despite the director's increased fame and numerous offers from Hollywood. "Even though I didn't mention it, they said they're making the film under the 'Durga Arts Banner.' I am grateful to them for that," Narayana stated.
"Rajamouli also got many offers from Hollywood. He rejected them and was happy to do a film with me. The pre-production work has been going on for the past two months. The shooting will start in August or September, and the budget has not been decided yet. But I am ready to spend any amount for the film," the producer added.
SSMB29 stars Mahesh Babu and American-Indonesian actress Chelsea Islan. The stellar crew includes cinematographer PS Vinod, editor Tammiraju, production designer Mohan Nath Bingi, VFX supervisor Kamal Kannan RC (Eega, Baahubali 2), and composer MM Keeravaani. Producer KL Narayana backs this grand, globe-trotting action adventure with a massive budget, targeting Indian and Hollywood audiences.
