One Day, I Will Surely Deliver A Rs 200 Crore Grosser: Vijay Deverakonda
Six years after the stupendous success of Geetha Govindam, Vijay Deverakonda and director Parasuram teamed up for Family Star this time. The film has generated positive buzz amongst the audience. Its pre-release event was held last night in Hyderabad.
During the time of Liger's release, VD was overconfident about the film and made a statement saying that it would gross a minimum of Rs 200 cr. Unfortunately, the Puri Jagannadh-directed action film tanked at the box office. Deverakonda was trolled for showing over-confidence.
At yesterday's event, the actor said, "Geetha Govindam was my fourth film. It made Rs 100 crore. I aimed for Rs 200 crore but that didn't become a reality. Everyone made fun of me. Some of them also called me an arrogant person and advised me not to make such claims in the future. There is nothing wrong in making such a statement. But it was wrong on my part not to ensure that the claim became a reality. Sooner or later, one of my movies will make Rs 200 cr. I will wait for it. It is not arrogance because I am confident about it."
Family Star is set to hit the big screens on April 5, 2024. The movie has been directed by Parasuram Petla. Mrunal Thakur plays the female lead.
