Yadagirigutta: Rockslide on Temple Ghat Road Due to Heavy Rains

Yadagirigutta: Rockslide on Temple Ghat Road Due to Heavy Rains - Sakshi Post

YADADRI BHUVANAGIRI: Torrential rains battering the State of Telangana for the past 24 hours, resulted in soil loosening and rockslides over the second corner of the Ghat Road leading to the Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple on Thursday morning at Yadadri Bhuvanagri district.

Fortunately, a major disaster was averted as there were no pilgrims or vehicular movements going on the road at that time. Authorities rushed in and took measures to prevent vehicles from going through that route. Vehicles were diverted through the first ghat road as there was a possibility of more boulders falling due to rain.

R&B officials cleared the boulders on the road with help of excavators. Meanwhile, due to the heavy rains, sheds for keeping water for the pilgrims at the nursery premises collapsed. Rainwater also seeped into the newly built queue lines for the devotees on the hill. Meanwhile, all development work related to the temple on the Yadagirigutta hill was halted due to rains.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Telangana predicting heavy rains until Saturday. Also, an orange alert has been issued for Hyderabad, prompting the state government to initiate immediate relief measures.
