The Karnataka Congress also had group differences among senior leaders, with all the seniors in the party vying for the presidency. Prominent senior leaders like Siddaramaiah, Parameshwar, Mallikarjun Kharge, Veerappa Moily, Beevi Patil, Jairam Ramesh and others were in the race for the Karnataka Congress President post. In Karnataka, however, the majority of district party presidents are in the favour of DK Sivakumar.
In Telangana, Uttam Kumar Reddy submitted his resignation to the AICC president after Congress party faced a defeat in the GHMC elections.
According to the reports, majority of the leaders except for the seniors wanted Revanth Reddy to be appointed as the PCC president.
It is learned that senior leader Kamal Nathan will look after the issue. It is said that Kamal Nathan is likely to visit Telangana in a day or two and would find out what is going on in the party in Telangana. Revanth, who has been eyeing the post for a long time, in an interview, he said that leading the campaign committee was more up his alley since a PCC chief would be confined to particular area.
