Want Free Electricity or Congress: KTR Asks Farmers to Decide
Hyderabad: The ruling BRS is spending Rs 11,000 crore annually to provide free electricity to the farmers in the state, said the party Working President KT Rama Rao.
Addressing the reporters in Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, KTR slammed the Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy over his remarks on free electricity to the farmers in the state. He said the Congress leader’s arrogance is visible when he talks about sops being provided to the farmers by the ruling party.
It is worth mentioning here that during a press conference at TANA meeting in the United States, Revanth Reddy had asserted that the majority of Telangana farmers are small time farmers so 3-4 hours of free electricity is sufficient for them.
Demanding an apology from Revanth Reddy’s overseas remarks on agriculture consumption of electricity, KTR said, “BRS stands for cutting of crops while Congress is for electricity cuts.” The BRS leader asked the people if they would choose round-the-clock electricity or Congress?
Defending the Dharani portal, a land records management website, KTR said the e-governance initiative of the state government has made the lives of many landholding farmers easier, who would otherwise run pillar to post for their land transaction in the Congress rule. He again posed a question to the people – do you need farmers-friendly KCR or Congress.
