Viveka Case: SC Issues Notice to MP Avinash Reddy, Further Hearing on July 3
New Delhi : Hearing the plea moved by Dr. Suneetha Narreddy against the anticipatory bail granted to Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, the Supreme Court on Monday sought a response from Avinash Reddy and the CBI. A vacation bench of Justices Surya Kant and MM Sundresh said the matter should be listed before the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud for further hearing on July 3.
Suneetha Narreddy has moved the apex court seeking a cancellation of Avinash Reddy’s anticipatory bail in connection with the case registered against him in the Viveka murder case. She had challenged the Telangana High Court’s May 31 order which granted anticipatory bail to the Lok Sabha member.
On June 13, the apex court had deferred the hearing on Suneetha’s plea. A vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah did not issue notice on Suneetha's plea seeking the cancellation of anticipatory of Avinash and an extension of time for CBI to complete the probe. The bench observed that it was for the CBI to say that Avinash Reddy was not cooperating in the investigation of the case and it requires more time to complete the probe.
