Tollywood Film Producer Apprehended for Selling Drugs in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police arrested a Telugu film producer and distributor for peddling drugs in Rajendranagar police station limits here. The accused, Sunkara Krishna Prasad Chowdary, was allegedly found in possession of Cocaine.
In a joint operation Special Operation team (SOT) and Rajendranagar police nabbed Sunkara near Kismatpur X roads on Tuesday while he was trying to sell the drugs to customers, Cyberabad police said in a release here on Wednesday.
The police have recovered Rs 2.05 lakh cash and four mobile phones and one four wheeler besides 90 sachets weighing about 82.75 grams of Cocaine from his possession. A case was registered against the film producer under relevant section of NDPS Act 1985.
Sunkara Krishna Prasad Chowdary is a native of Bonakal Mandal of Khammam district in Telangana. He completed his B.Tech Mechanical and later worked as Director Operations in Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Technology in Pune of Maharashtra, the release said.
He resigned from his job in 2016 and became a film producer-cum-distributor. He produced a Telugu movie ‘Kabali’. He was also a distributor for a couple of Telugu films but the investment did not earn him good profits.

Sunkara shifted to Goa and started OHM Club. He would consume drugs with friends and celebrities from Hyderabad. After suffering a loss in business, he came back to Hyderabad in the month of April 2023. While returning to the city, he bought 100 sachets of Cocaine from a Nigerian national Petit Ebuzer and attempted to sell it in Hyderabad but got apprehended by the police. The police have filed a case against Ebuzer at Raidurgam police station.
