Tollywood Drugs Case: ED Begins Questioning With Puri Jagannadh

HYDERABAD: Telugu Film director Puri Jagannadh on Tuesday, reached the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad to appear before the agency officials in connection with a 2017drugs case. He was accompanied by his son Akash Puri and his chartered accountant.

Puri will be questioned on a number of key issues related to the case. FEMA is also planning to register cases if foreign illegal transactions are detected. Information is that if money laundering into illegal foreign accounts is proved that there is a possibility FEMA case being registered.

His associate and close friend Charmme Kaur will appear before the ED officials on September 2nd.

ED has already issued notices to 12 people from Tollywood in connection with this case. Among them are Puri Jagannath, Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet Singh, Charmee, Ravi Teja, Navdeep, Mumaith Khan, Tanish, Tarun, Nandu, and Ravi Teja’s driver Srinivas, F-Club general manager. The drugs racket was busted in July 2017 after the arrest of a musician and two other foreign nationals and a seizure of drugs from their possession.
