Telangana State 10th Formation Day To Be Celebrated For 21 Days From June 2
Hyderabad:The Telangana government on Saturday decided to celebrate the state's Formation Day on a grand scale for 21 days beginning June 2. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) decided that the historic occasion of Telangana entering into the 10th year of its existence should be celebrated in a splendid manner.
KCR held a meeting with officials here on the Formation Day celebrations and stated that the state of Telangana, which became a reality after a long struggle, is making great progress now.
- The celebrations will begin on June 2 with Rao attending an event in the newly built secretariat here. State ministers will attend such inaugural functions in district headquarters on the day.
- During the 21-day period, a "Martyrs Day" will be observed to pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood.
- Each government department would showcase the progress achieved by it by screening documentaries on a designated day.
- The progress made in drinking water supply and irrigation would be showcased on "water day".
- The success of the electricity department would be presented on "power day".
- The Chief Minister will inaugurate the "Brahmin Parishad Bhavan" meant for propagation of devotional thought and spirituality on May 31.
- Welfare Day should be organized as a special day for the welfare of all sections. There should be programs to inform the world about the welfare activities being implemented for SC, ST, BC, Minority, women including poor communities through the media platforms, starting with the implementation of Dalit Bandhu, unveiling of 125 feet statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar, naming the Secretariat after Ambedkar.
- Agriculture Day, Rural and Urban Development Day, Revenue Day, Special Day to commemorate Administrative Reforms, Police Reforms, Women's Day to commemorate Women Empowerment, Industries-IT Day, Education Day, Medical and Health Day, Artisans Day (Professions), Green Day , handloom day, about economic progress, development of infrastructure. One day should be reserved for each department and programs should be taken during the celebrations so that the world understands the progress of Telangana.
- In independent India, a documentary should be produced and screened which will tell the history of the movement from the initial phase of the movement for Telangana to the achievement of Telangana. Another documentary should be made about the good governance and progress in Telangana during self rule.
- During the 21 days celebrations, various cultural programs including cooking, games, poet gatherings, and Ashtavadhanas should be organized.
- Historical structures like Golconda Fort, Bhuvanagiri Fort and famous temples across the state including Ramappa should be decorated with electric lights.
- A large-scale fireworks display should be organized at Hussain Sagar.
- Government employees of all departments who have shown excellence in their duties should be recognized and awarded.
- Cultural programs, rallies should be organized in Hyderabad with 5-6 thousand artists under the direction of the State Culture Department , the press release stated.
