Telangana: SI Saves Woman’s Life by Performing CPR
Hyderabad: Citizen-friendly Telangana police have once again won the hearts of people with their Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills. An alert Sub-inspector Mahendar quickly administered CPR to a woman who had suffered a heart attack and collapsed.
The incident occurred in Valigonda village of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. According to sources, the police team led by SI Mahender was conducting a vehicle checking drive in the area. The police official saw a woman collapsing nearby. He immediately responded and performed CPR on her and saved her life. The woman was identified as Boina Venkatamma of Mannevaripampu village in Bhuvanagiri mandal.
Earlier this week, a bomb disposal unit comprising of two police personnel had spotted a woman lying unconscious on the roadside. The policemen quickly performed CPR and revived her.
Following the growing instances of sudden deaths of young people in the state last year, the then BRS government had launched a mass CPR training programme for first responders and field level health workers across the state.
