Telangana: Sarpanches from KCR's Mandal Hold Secret Meeting
The village sarpanches of Markuk Mandal of Siddipet district are going to submit their resignation soon, according to the reports. It is said that the government didn't pay the bills w.r.t development work done in the villages. Sixteen sarpanches from Markuk Mandal met secretly at a farm on Wednesday. It is learned that a unanimous decision has been taken to resign if the pending bills are not paid immediately.
The government is not paying the salaries of Gram Panchayat employees and the authorities are putting pressure on the sarpanches to complete the work expeditiously. The sarpanches have bought money from others and are paying the workers so that the work will be completed on time. However, the officials did not pay the bills on time and Sarpanches complained that they were not in a position to pay the interest and have got stuck in debts.
On the other hand, giving joint check power to sub-sarpanches has become a big problem. The Sarpanches warned that there is no other option but to resign if the government doesn't clear the bills.
