Telangana: Rowdy Sheeter Opens Fire In Air Over Land Dispute In Zaheerabad
A rowdy-sheeter allegedly opened fire in the air following a land dispute. The incident took place at Govindapur on the outskirts of Mogudampally Mandal near Zaheerabad. Tension prevailed in the area for some time.
According to police, the rowdy sheeter an associate of businessman opened fire after a dispute with a man over ownership of an agricultural land. According to the reports, Kamal Kishore Pallod of Zaheerabad owns 31 acres of land at Jeedigadd Tanda. On Monday, he engaged labour to set boundaries for his land.
Two persons Mohammad Ashraf and Ali Akbar have a heated argument with the Kamal Kishore saying that they also have some land in the same area. After some time, Ali sought the help of a rowdy sheeter Mohammad Layeeq. He rushed to the place with his accomplices carrying knives and a firearm. Soon after arriving the place, he fired six rounds to terrorise the people.
Chiragpally Police rushed to the spot after learning of the illegal firing of the firearm. Ali Akbar and Ashraf have been arrested and the police have recovered three used bullets at the crime scene.
The businessman claimed that the property belonged to him and argued with the man when he started fencing it, the police said.
Police added that, based on a complaint, a case under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) and under relevant provisions of the Arms Act was registered. Layeeq was an accused in a murder case in 2018. Three special teams have been formed to arrest Layeeq.
