HYDERABAD: India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned that rains will continue for the next three days and issued a Yellow alert for over 15 places, including Hyderabad and surrounding districts. Heavy rains lashed several parts of Telangana state including the capital city, Hyderabad last night. A few districts witnessed hailstorms and these rains brought in a much-needed respite after temperatures started soaring in the State.
Meteorological officials informed that Shaikpet in the city witnessed maximum 9.5 cms of rainfall while Khammam received 7.7 cms of rainfall. Some areas in Vikarabad and Sangareddy districts witnessed hailstorms which turned the roads into sheets of white ice.
Light to moderate rains accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at 30-40 Kmph is likely to occur across various places in the state in the coming two days as stated in the IMD report below.
