Telangana Polls: Congress Mocks BRS with Parody Ad Campaign

 - Sakshi Post

Political temperature is hotting up in Telangana as Congress is relentlessly targeting the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is popularly known as KCR.

Couple of weeks ago, the Telangana Congress criticised the KCR government over the Kaleshwaram project and accused the KCR government of misappropriating the funds by escalating the costs of the project. The party leaders alleged that KCR has used the Kaleshwaram project as an ‘ATM’ to embezzle Rs 1 lakh crores.

Taking its criticism to the next level, the leaders of the opposition party installed a dummy ATM in Hyderabad to highlight the alleged corruption in the construction of the BRS government’s flagship project and dubbed it as ‘Kaleshwaram ATM’.

The party coined the slogan ‘Kaleshwaram Corruption Rao’ after the reports emerged that the piers of Medigadda barrage were sinking. However, the BRS government has refuted the allegations and termed it ‘misinformation’.

Following its huge success in Karnataka assembly elections, the Congress has decided to replicate the same advertisement campaign for electioneering in Telangana. Recently, the Congress sharpened its attack on the KCR government through an advertisement campaign. In the scripted video shared on the official Telangana Congress X account, look-alikes of KCR, KTR and K Kavitha were shown on the stage. The speech of the KCR look-alike is a laugh riot as he makes a poll promise and at the end of the sentence, the loud speaker blurts out, ‘we will forget’. Through these hilarious speeches, the Congress is trying to tell the voters that the chief minister makes reportedly fake promises and never fulfills them after coming to power. You can watch the video campaign below.

Through these advertisement campaigns, the Telangana Congress is only criticising the ruling party. It remains to be seen how much political mileage the party is going to get out of it in the November 30 polls.
