Telangana Polls: Congress Finalizes Second List, 5 Seats Remain Undecided

 - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: Within two weeks after the first list of candidates for Telangana assembly elections, Congress leadership is learnt to have finalised the second list. As per the sources, the grand old party may declare the names of candidates selected in the second round any time soon.

The Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) under the chairmanship of party’s President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday morning. It’s not clear how many senior leaders, who had joined the Congress after quitting the ruling BRS have found a place in the second list.

According to sources, there’s stiff competition for five Assembly seats : Boath seat (Dr Naresh Jadav/Rathod Bapurao ), Thungathurthi seat ( Addanki Dayakar/Dr Vaddepalli Ravi ), Maheshwaram seat (K Laxma Reddy/Parijata Reddy), Jadcherla seat (Erra Sekhar Mudiraj/Anirudh Reddy) and Makthal seat (Srihari Mudiraj/Prashant Reddy). The CEC is expected to hold further deliberations on this list tomorrow.

If the Congress party decides to give the Makthal ticket to a BC candidate then a Reddy candidate is expected to get the Jadcherla candidature. Similarly, Srihari Mudiraj and Erra Sekhar Mudiraj are hoping to get the tickets from Makthal and Jadcherla assembly constituencies respectively.
