Telangana Police To Release Vehicles Seized During Lockdown After Owners Pay Fine

Here is some good news to the motorists whose vehicles have been seized during the lockdown for violating the rules. The Telangana police have decided to release all seized vehicles. The police also imposed heavy fines on those who have violated the lockdown rules. Earlier, the police said that motorists should visit court and pay a fine to take their vehicles.

But now the lockdown has been lifted in the Telangana state. The state police department clarified that the motorists can take their vehicle by paying the challan. In a circular issued to all unit and senior officers across the state, DGP instructed that the vehicles should be released after paying fine. Penalties can be paid through e-Petty, e-challan and vehicles can be taken away.

The cases filed under the sections of Indian Penal Code or Special Act for serious offences, including obstructing public servants, assault on police officers, doctors or other public servants will be dealt with as per law and charge sheets will be filed under the provisions of Criminal Procedure Code in the competent court of law. However, the seized vehicles can be released after obtaining acknowledgement.
