India, an epicentre of the world's worst coronavirus outbreak, is likely to witness the third wave of coronavirus. Currently, the country is dealing with the second wave of coronavirus.

Ever since the coronavirus pandemic started, the Telangana state is being criticised for not conducting tests and under reporting the positive cases. Most of the people are criticising that Telangana government is underplaying the pandemic situation in the state.

According to reports, a new COVID-19 strain has been found in the state. In the second wave of coronavirus pandemic, people have been facing problems due to oxygen deficiency and shortage of beds. As a result, most of the hospitals in the state are finding it difficult to handle the current flood of patients.

The number of dead bodies are piling up in the crematoriums. Some of the crematoriums are even putting up housefull boards. Now, the news is that some of the mortuary staffers are demanding about Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5,000 for handling the bodies of COVID victims till they have been handed over to the attendants. One such incident has been reported from the state run Mulugu Area Hospital.

Speaking to a leading English daily, Mulugu Area Hospital Superintendent P Jagadesh said this issue has already been brought to their notice by some of the attendants of the COVID victims. He further added that, "After knowing the issue, we have deployed a team to inquire into the matter. A detailed report on this will be submitted to the in-charge of the mortuary.
