Telangana HC Serves Notice to Tollywood Filmmaker in Land Allotment Case
Hyderabad: Prominent Tollywood director Kovelamudi Raghavendra Rao and K Krishna Mohan have received notices in a land dispute on Friday. The Telangana High Court served notices to the director on a public interest litigation (PIL) in a land dispute case. The notices were served to the family members of the film director.
The PIL, which was filed in 2012, had challenged the allotment of two acres in Survey No. 403/1 of Banjara Hills. The petitioner Balakishan had claimed that the director was using the 2 acres of land allotted by the government for the development of film city and thus violated the norms of land allotment. In his petition, Balakishan further claimed that the allotted land was being used for commercial purposes.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Alok Aradhe and Justice NV Shravan Kumar heard the matter and issued notices to the respondents. The court posted the matter for hearing in the third week of January.
