Telangana Govt to Issue White Ration Card for 6 Guarantees!

Hyderabad: Congress stormed to power in Telangana with the promise of ‘Praja Prabhutvam’ (people's government). Days after assuming charge, the chief minister Revanth Reddy is taking steps to implement its electoral promise. 

As part of it, the Telangana government has come up with an ambitious "Praja Palana” ( Public administration ) programme to take the administration to the doorsteps of the people. The initiative will run from December 28 to January 6, 2024 in the state. 

The ‘Praja Palana’ programmes would be held in all villages and municipal wards from 9 am to 5 pm with the break for lunch at 2 pm. The applications for the  "Praja Palana” programme would be made available two days before the programme so the people could fill it in and submit them during the programme. 

According to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, people from villages, towns, wards and divisions could submit their applications pertaining to the Six Guarantees. The applicants will be given an acknowledgement receipt. The government is still in the process of finalising the modalities for beneficiary eligibility criteria guidelines, however, white ration card could be considered as the basic parameter for taking a decision on the applicant’s eligibility to avail the benefits under Six Guarantees programme.

Earlier in the day, chief minister Revanth Reddy held a meeting with collectors and SPs at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat here on Sunday. During the meeting, the chief minister urged the high-ranking officials to try to win the hearts of the people first. Invoking the struggle of local people for realising the Telangana dream, Revanth Reddy directed the officials to approach the grievances with positivity. He said our intention is to help the eligible person and to ensure the benefits reach the beneficiaries without red-tapism.
