Telangana COVID-19 cases Inch Towards 3,000
HYDERABAD: On the second day of lockdown 5.0, Telangana registered 99 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 2,891. It also reported four fatalities due to the dreaded virus in the state, taking the toll to 92.
Of the 99 new cases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases at 70. Rangareddy has recorded seven new cases while three from Medchal and two from Nalgonda were also reported. One case each was registered in Mahabubnagar, Jagityal, Mancherial, Sangareddy and Siddipet. Meanwhile, 12 migrants tested positive for the dreaded virus.
According to the public health and family welfare media bulletin, total local cases till June 2 stands at 2,891. Of them, 446 cases are of migrants, deportees and foreign returnees.
The bulletin said that 1,526 people have been discharged so far after the treatment. The number of active cases being treated stood at 1,273.
