Telangana BJP to elect its floor leader in Amit Shah's presence

Hyderabad: With the Lok Sabha elections approaching faster, the BJP has begun its poll preparation ahead of other mainstream parties in the country. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting Telangana on December 28, Thursday. During his visit to the state, Amit Shah will hold a series of meetings with the Telangana BJP leadership to review the party’s poll preparedness.

Even though the saffron party’s seats tally and voting percentage increased in the recent Telangana assembly elections, the party leadership is apparently not happy as it could not make an impact in the elections. The party won only 8 assembly seats while all the 3 senior leaders were defeated in the assembly elections. The senior BJP leader will avoid public meetings during his visit to Telangana. He will discuss the party strategy with the local BJP leaders to win the next elections. He’s expected to attend Telangana BJP’s legislative party meeting during which the party will elect its floor leader for the State Legislative Assembly.

According to sources, Amit Shah will be taking charge of a few states including Telangana ahead of the general elections. The party had won only 4 seats from Telangana in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections . This time the saffron party is hoping to win at least 10 parliamentary seats in upcoming national polls.
