Telangana: All You Wanted To Know About Mumbai-Hyderabad Bullet Train
Is it possible to reach Mumbai within three hours from Hyderabad by train? The answer is yes. The central government is planning to introduce a bullet train between Mumbai and Hyderabad and the distance between Hyderabad and Mumbai is 717km. To cover the distance, it takes nearly 15 hours but with the bullet train, the travel time will be reduced to 3 hours.
The bullet train service from Mumbai to Hyderabad is going to have 11 stations and it will connect Mumbai with the Navi Mumbai airport, Pune, Lonavala, Pandharpur, and Solapur. The ticket price needs to be finalized. According to the reports, the price of the ticket is expected to be 1.5 times the existing first-class AC fare on the Indian Railways’ current service. The maximum speed of the train is going to be 350kmph and the average speed will be 250 kmph. A total of 350 passengers can travel on the train.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to rejig the Mumbai-Hyderabad bullet train route. In the letter, it was mentioned that "If the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra collaborate along the Samruddhi Mahamarg the execution of the Mumbai-Nashik-Nagpur HSR can be started at the earliest. GoM further proposes that since Mumbai-Nagpur HSR will be within the Samruddhi Mahamarg right of way (RoW) up to Jalna the same may be extended to Hyderabad."
