Southwest Monsoons: Telugu States May Receive Rainfall Over Low Pressure in Bay of Bengal

The Indian Meteorological Department said that a low-pressure area is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood regions around June 11. It further mentioned that this may trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha, with a possibility of flash floods in some places.

The southwest monsoon is likely to hit the coastal region of North Andhra Pradesh during the next 2-3 days, the Visakhapatnam IMD said. It also forecast dust storms at 30-40 kmph and thunderstorms at several places along the coast and also in Rayalaseema in the next 24 hours due to the monsoon.

Besides this, the IMD Bulletin read, the eastern and northern districts of Telangana will also receive heavy to very heavy rains during June 11-13. Heavy rains are likely to occur in KumuramBheem Asifabad, Sircilla, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Warangal Rural and urban and Janagaon districts on June 11.

The bulletin warned of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph likely to lash isolated places in the State from June 10-12.
