RS MP Krishnaiah Urges CM KCR to Extend Financial Aid to All BC Castes
Hyderabad: National BC Welfare Association president and MP R Krishnaiah on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the status of Backward Classes welfare programmes in Telangana. Comparing the welfare initiatives of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh for the BC community, Krishnaiah lamented that the BRS government has failed miserably in uplifting the community.
Claiming that the KCR government has failed to fulfill its promise to the BC community, Rajya Sabha MP Krishnaiah said efforts are also being made to end the BC welfare ministry.
“The Telangana government assured to provide financial assistance to all the BC castes but beneficiaries of only six castes are receiving Rs 1 lakh financial assistance. We demand the state government to extend the financial assistance to the remaining 130 castes too,” said Krishnaiah.
Rajya Sabha MP said Telangana is reportedly the richest state in India and therefore, the state government should provide adequate funds to the development of the BC community. He said the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had assured BC Bandhu but nearly 60 lakh people of the community are yet to get the benefit.
