Rs 8 Crore Granted For First Neera Processing Plant In Yadadri Bhongir

The Neera Processing Plant and collection centres are going to be set up at Nandanam village in Yadadri Bhongir district. The Finance Department released Rs. 8 crores for the Neera Processing Plant under Neera Policy Scheme. This is the first such plant in Telangana.

Know what is Neera?

Neera is a famous drink in many parts of Telangana. It is a sweet natural extract from Palmyra or Indian date palm trees and it is collected in an earthen pot, which is tied to the tree before sunrise. Neera is non-alcoholic. Neera has to be consumed within three hours of its extraction.  

Neera can be stored in the refrigerator and its life span can be increased to four or five days. Neera is similar to coconut water and has the ability to improve the internal cleansing mechanism of the body. The Telangana government is endorsing neera by highlighting its nutritional value.
