Over 1 Crore Abhaya Hastham Forms Received as Deadline for Praja Palana Ends Today

Hyderabad: The last date for submission of applications to receive direct benefits under the Six Guarantees initiative (Abhaya Hastham Scheme) at the Praja Palana public outreach programmes is ending today, January 06, 2023. 

As part of the Praja Palana outreach programmes, the state government had set up special counters across 150 wards within GHMC limits. So far, over 1 crore applications were received by the officials at different counters across the State. On Friday alone, 21,52,178 applications were submitted at the designated centres all over the State. Out of these, 4.53,100 applications were related to new ration cards and remaining were related to other items. 

According to sources, over 40 lakh applications were received under the GHMC limits. Out of these 10 lakh applications were from working professionals while the remaining 30 lakh Abhaya Hastham forms were submitted by the poor and middle class people. 

Under the Six Guarantees, women beneficiaries will receive Rs 2,500 financial aid every month, a gas cylinder for Rs 500 and free electricity upto 200 units for household consumption. In Hyderabad, over 17.21 lakh people have ration cards. 

The state government may launch a second public outreach programme after four months for those who missed this opportunity. The government has trained dozens of people to digitalise the applications received for Abhaya Hastham scheme and the digitisation exercise is expected to be completed by January 17.
