Make Govt Policies Citizen Centric: KTR To Telangana Officials

IT and Industries Minister KTR chaired a detailed review of ITE & C department to strategize and start the work towards launching the State’s ICT policy for the next 5 years i.e. 2021-2026.

Minister KTR also carried out a detailed review of activities managed and carried out over the last 6 years from the formation of the state.

During the meeting, the Minister  emphasised and asked all the teams to always keep the citizen at the center of the entire thought process while designing the the policies.

“Our policies should be citizen-centric and  should prioritize and use technological advancements to focus and solve the problems of a common man,” he said.

Minister also emphasized that the department has to focus on developing next-gen citizen services which would ensure minimising visits to a government office for any service. “Citizens should be able to avail all the government services from their home through the T-Fiber infrastructure or otherwise,” KTR said.

Minister KTR stated that with a strong innovation ecosystem, the state should focus on transforming into an innovation economy which focuses on grassroot innovation; innovation at schools thereby inculcating design thinking from a very young age.

“The highest amount of importance should be given towards skilling of the students, and working professionals in Telangana which would result in increasing the employment within the state,” said Minister KTR.

Minister said that the state govt has embarked on creating a robust digital infrastructure with the help of T-Fiber project.

Plug & play infrastructure and electronic manufacturing parks were also envisioned as part of the proposed policy for 2021-26.

IT & Industries Department Principal Secretary Sri Jayesh Ranjan, Heads of various wings of IT Department participated in the meeting.
