IMD Sounds Heavy Rain Alert in Telangana

For the last three days, Telangana State has been witnessing light to moderate rains. According to the Indian Meteorological Department information on Saturday, a few districts of Telangana will receive thundershowers for the next 48 hours. 

According to Dr. Nagarathna, Director of the Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad, the sky will remain cloudy for the next 24 hours. "Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in several sections of the city throughout the next 48 hours.  Surface winds are expected to be Easterly/South-Easterly, with gusts of 10-15 kph," she noted.

According to a bulletin issued by the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, the low-pressure region over South Interior Karnataka and nearby North Interior Tamilnadu and Rayalaseema has become less prominent. Earlier, Nagarathna stated that light to moderate rains are also expected in several districts in the state's south, east, and northeast. "Rainfall is thereafter expected to decrease in Telangana state, and Hyderabad city will experience very mild to light rainfall at various locations during the next 24 hours," she said.

Rainy days are expected to continue in Hyderabad as the IMD states that Bhuvanagiri and Nalgonda regions will witness heavy rains.
