Four-day Wings India 2024 Kicks Off at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Wings India 2024, Asia’s largest event of Civil Aviation commenced at Begumpet airport here on Thursday. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the four-day event which is being organised by Airports Authority of India (AAI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Speaking on the occasion, Scindia said that India is the world’s third-largest purchaser of aircrafts after the United States and China. Sharing the details of the current fleet, Union Civil Aviation Minister said Air India owns 470 aircrafts which include 250 Airbus and 220 Boeing while IndiGo has 500 aircrafts and the new entrant in the aviation sector Akasa boasts of 150 aircrafts.
The first two days of the event will be dedicated to the global conference and the international delegates and the visitors will be allowed to attend the show on the last two days. This year nearly 1500 delegates from 106 countries and over one lakh visitors are expected to take part in the event.
