Cyclone Gulab Effect: Red Alert In 14 Telangana Districts
Cyclone Gulab Updates: The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has issued a red alert at 14 districts in the state due to heavy rains in Telangana due to the Cylcone Gulab effect.
The districts of Nirmal, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Jagitial, Siricilla, Siddipet, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Mahabubabad, Jangam, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Khammam and Kothagudem have been put on red alert by the State officials.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation have also issued a warning in view of the heavy rainfall prediction for the next three days. They have alerted all the field teams and officers to be ready to handle any emergency situation. Rains continue to lash the city of Hyderabad. Floodwaters have inundated several roads and colonies in a number of areas due to incessant rains pouring in the city since Monday morning. The atmosphere in the city changed drastically and the sky turned dark in the afternoon with clouds covering the city. GHMC authorities are requesting people not to venture out unless absolutely necessary. GHMC has already issued a high alert and city residents were advised to be careful for the next three days.
In a video message, the Director of India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad, Dr K Nagaratna, shared, “Telangana districts are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rains, while few districts might experience extremely heavy rains on Monday. The depression is likely to less intensify in the next 24 hours.”
