Congress Candidate from Jubilee Hills Seat Azharuddin Trails by Over 1600 Votes 

Hyderabad: Even as Congress is celebrating its resurgence in the Telangana Assembly elections, the party’s candidate from Jubilee Hills constituency and veteran cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin is trailing in round of 26. 

Azharuddin’s opponent and BRS candidate Maganti Gopinath is leading in 10 rounds of 26 and has so far secured 27,571 votes while the Congress candidate has polled 25,932 votes. AIMIM has fielded its corporator Mohammed Rashed Farazuddin in Jubilee Hills against Azharuddin, who is fighting his maiden election in his hometown. The BJP has nominated Lankala Deepak Reddy from this assembly segment. 

The BRS candidate Gopinath had won from Jubilee Hills seat in the 2014 elections. Congress leader Azharuddin was elected as a Member of Parliament from Moradabad, UP in 2009.
