BRS MLA Hospitalised After Scuffle Breaks Out Between Congress and BRS Workers
Hyderabad: Tension prevailed in Achampet town in Nagarkurnool district following an attack on the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party MLA on Saturday night.
As per reports, the workers of both BRS and Congress clashed during the election campaign of BRS MLA Guvvala Balaraju. During the scuffle, Balaraju was allegedly attacked by Congress supporters who suspected that the BRS leader’s vehicle was carrying money to distribute it among the voters.
Last night, the Congress workers attempted to block a vehicle near Veltur gate in Uppununthala mandal.When the driver of the MLA’s vehicle didn’t stop, the Congress workers followed the car and resorted to stone pelting.
Hearing about the incident, the BRA legislator Guvvala Balaraju and Congress candidate Vamsi Krishna reached the spot. The Congress workers pelted stones on Balaraju who sustained injuries in the alleged attack.
The injured BRS MLA was immediately shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad. Several cars and cameras were also damaged in the attack. It’s not clear whether the police have registered a case.
Meanwhile, Vamsi told reporters that the Congress workers had inputs that the vehicle was carrying cash for distribution among voters. He said the workers had alerted the police and yet the car was not stopped by the officials. He alleged that Balaraju is fearing his defeat in upcoming Assembly elections.

Recently, a poll-related scuffle broke out between BRS and Congress workers in Ibrahimpatnam and left two policemen and several Congress workers injured during the stone-pelting incident.
