BJP’s Kishan Reddy Rebukes Congress Over SC Categorisation

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Kishan Reddy said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement on forming a committee for empowering Madigas (a SC community) should not be seen as a poll promise ahead of November 30 polls in the state.

Recently, Modi had made this announcement while addressing a rally organised by Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) in Hyderabad. He also reiterated that the BJP stands by them in their struggle.

He said Congress was in power for decades and they should have worked for the categorisation of Scheduled Castes (SCs), however, the grand old party neglected the Justice Usha Mehra commission's report on SC categorisation.

Kishan Reddy told reporters that the BJP is fully committed to SC categorisation and will ensure the implementation of the categorisation.

He informed that the BJP will release its ‘sankalp patra’ (poll manifesto on November 16 or 17 and party’s national president JP Nadda is expected to release it.
