And The Winner of Munugode Byelections 2022 is...

Munugode: The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi has wrested the Munugode Assembly constituency with its candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy winning the by-election with a majority of 10,113 votes. 

TRS’s Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy captured the Munugode seat with a total of 96,598 votes and won by a margin of  10,113 votes. BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has secured 86,485 votes while Congress candidate Palvai Sravanthi Reddy got 23,864 votes. 

The bye-election was necessitated by the resignation of Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and shifted his loyalties to BJP. Despite being a bye-election, it garnered a lot of attention as it is the litmus test for the ensuing Assembly elections in the state for all major parties including TRS, BJP and Congress.
