Nizamabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) supremo and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, along with local councillors met the party workers who are lodged in Nizamabad jail on Monday. At least 10 MIM party workers were booked after they allegedly confronted BRS legislator from Bodhan constituency Mohammed Shakil Aamir on June 16.

After visiting his party workers in the Sarangapur jail in the district, Owaisi said the party workers from MIM’s Bodhan unit only posed questions to Shakil Aamir about the development of the area. He said the party workers were booked under various sections of IPC for confronting the legislator and they were sent to jail. The MM leader also said that the arrested party workers had worked hard to ensure the victory of BRS leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha.

Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the arrest of party workers and said in the upcoming Assembly elections, his party will teach a lesson to him (BRS MLA Shakil Aamir). Hyderabad MP also said his party will contest elections in Muslim-majority constituencies in the Telangana elections which are due later this year.

The MIM president added that the KCR government should introduce welfare schemes for Muslims on the lines of Dalit Bandhu scheme. He also demanded that the chief minister should look into his request for rebuilding the demolished mosques in the Secretariat premises.
