After 3 Years Gap, Bathini Family Begins Administering Fish Medicine in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Thousands of people suffering from asthma started lining up at Exhibition Grounds this morning as members of Bathini family began administering the ‘fish prasadam’ to the asthmatic patients on Friday. The medicine will be administered till 8 am on june 10, Saturday.
Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav inaugurated the ‘fish prasadam’ which has been held by the Bathini Goud family for over 100 years now. The state fisheries department has supplied over one lakh live murrel fish to Bathini families.
The city-based Bathini family begins administering ‘fish prasadam’ on Mrigasira Karthi in June every year. However, they were not allowed to conduct the camp for three years in a row due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
Lakhs of people come from different states to receive this fish medicine as it is believed to be a cure for asthma. The 'fish prasadam' contains live murrel fish and herbal paste and the Bathini family claims this will cure respiratory ailments like asthma and bronchitis.
The GHMC has made elaborate arrangements for the Bathini family programme. The patients are being provided breakfast and lunch while many voluntary organizations are extending their help in the smooth conduct of camp. Meanwhile, city police have deployed dozens of police personnel at the venue to regulate the traffic in the area.
