Coronavirus cases in Telangana Thandas - Sakshi Post

VIKARABAD: Not paying heed to the Government and health officials warning people not to travel to other states, a family living in Dornal Thanda in Dharur mandal of Vikarabad district were tested COVID positive after they went for a social gathering in neighbouring Karnataka.

A family from the Thanda went for an event in Gulbarga district of Karnataka two weeks ago. After returning the family members gradually fell ill. The district medical and health officials set up a medical camp in the village and performed COVID-19 tests on the villagers. Thirteen of the family members who went to the event and 25 other members of the Thanda were diagnosed as COVID-19 positive. They are currently being treated and are under home isolation.

As per reports, the village with a population of only 300 people are now fearing the spread of the virus in the Thanda.

Meanwhile, a senior member of the Thanda, Ruplanayak (101) died on Tuesday morning. As no one came forward to conduct his funeral, members of the Mahaseva Youth Welfare  Syed Kamal, Akhtar, Sohail, Ahmad Umri, Zakid Mir, Tawfiq and Md Nazir, performed his last rites and showed humanity during these testing times.

In another incident, a man who was worried about being infected with coronavirus committed suicide. As per reports Banoth Shankar, 45, of Kotyanayak Thanda in the Garla mandal at  Mahabubabad district, was diagnosed with COVID-19 five days ago. The man apparently went home and consumed insecticide out of fear of contracting the virus. Shankar was immediately taken to Khammam Hospital for treatment and later shifted to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. However, Shankar died on Tuesday morning while receiving treatment.
