Will Hardik Pandya Play In WTC Final? Here's What He Said
World Test Championship: Rohit Sharma-led side will face Australia in the World Test Championship in June. For the prestigious WTC final match, numerous former Indian cricketers have expressed their probable India-playing XIs.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya, India's all-rounder, was asked about his prospects of participating in the WTC Final. The stand-in skipper for the three-match ODI series has stated that he does not want to take anyone's spot in the playing eleven since it would be 'unethical'. Pandya has stated that he wishes to reclaim his position in the Test setup.
“No. I am a morally strong individual. I haven't done 10% to get there. I am not even in the top 1%. Therefore my showing up and stealing someone's seat will be unethical. If I want to play Test cricket, I'll put in the effort. As a result, I will not be eligible for the WTC final or any future Test series until I feel I have earned my position," the daring batter told the media.
Pandya last played a Test for India against England in 2018. The Baroda cricketer has played 11 Tests for India, scoring 532 runs and taking 17 wickets.
